The Wrath HD community
Loriendal
I didn’t know Loriendal, but his work with Trimitor helped make this client possible. After Loriendal’s passing, Trimitor continued the project they started together in 2019.
Read Trimitor’s story of the project.
The Foundation
This project builds on the original Patch-Y work by Andre and its community contributors. Lau’s updates continue that shared work.
- Loriendal and Trimitor built and maintained the HD client.
- Andre reworked Patch-Y and created the HD, New Spells Off and Non-HD editions.
- Project Reforged contributors shared the HD loading screens and world-map artwork.
- Trimitor WDM supplies the 2.4.5 dungeon/raid maps, beta cave expansion and required WDM/!Astrolabe support used by the optional map upgrade.
- Blizzard Entertainment created World of Warcraft, its original artwork and localized text.
- Lau / Lausudo builds on this foundation with multilingual support, additional visual edits, loading-screen and map adaptations, release packaging and Lau Setup.
Additional visual contributions
- Suppository and the contributors credited in the source patch supplied the adopted raid-visual sources used in game release 3.1.0. The source credits also list Kupi, Thiesant, Rorifer, Loriendal, Sl1msh, Rexbe, Andre, Merfin, palms, Lau and an anonymous contributor.
- Andre also supplied the Halion positioning-mark restoration.
Early Patch-Y feedback and technical discussion
- Suppository helped work out Patch-S compatibility.
- Romper compared HD and Non-HD visuals and shared a video bug report.
- Drain reported missing class-spell animations in the HD setup.
- DisQuaD reported problems on the Russian client.
- Crumpy helped troubleshoot regional download access.

Artwork
Game release 3.1.0 includes 77 newly reviewed HD 16:9 loading backgrounds. Neil confirmed representative screens from the pack in game on his 16:9 English client; this was not an individual check of every background or locale. Eight original backgrounds remain unchanged and can retain side bars. The new source artwork is 1672×940 or 1672×941, not native 4K.
The map and loading galleries retain earlier comparison screenshots. Four loading-art previews were enlarged with image generation for this site. They are illustrative previews, not captures of all 77 released backgrounds or evidence of final in-game acceptance. Select a loading image to open its original game screenshot.
